I made the terrible mistake of taking my dog Shorty to East Los Angeles Dog and Cat Hospital for follow up medical care for Parvo.
On sunday I took him to El Monte ER , cause he just was not his playful self. They confirmed he had parvo. They treated over night and advised me to continue care at my regular Vets office on Monday morning. I took him to Dr Cassillas on Monday, I gave him the report from the ER. It showed that he had a good chance for survival. Labs, wt and general health were good. By Tues they should of known if Shorty was going to be ok or not. I called everyday to see what his status was, they repeatly told me he was doing fine. By Weds I hoped we would be able to bring him home, but Doctor kept telling me that it was best to keep him another day. Finally on Friday the said I could pick him up on Saturday. My roomate picked him up that morning. She called me at work and said he looked real bad. I never imagined that he looked as bad as he did when I arrived home. He was obviously was dying, he could not stand for long without colasping to the ground. At 2:00 Saturday Shorty had a bowel movement of blood and died. This is not how I expected this to turn out. I have never experienced this kind of treatment by a Vet. Please dont take your animals there. They dont care if they suffer.
